Payments in cryptocurrencies will be launched first in Switzerland and then across Europe. Wordline and Bitcoin Suisse are going into partnership to achieve this and want to introduce cryptocurrencies on a large scale.

Swiss merchants and consumers will soon be able to make their payments in cryptocurrencies virtually everywhere. This is the aim of the partnership between Wordline, the European market leader for payment services, and the Zug-based company Bitcoin Suisse. The cooperation will leverage the existing nationwide payments infrastructure of SIX Payment Services, which has been part of Worldline since the end of 2018, to make payments with cryptocurrencies a reality.

According to a press release, the partnership between Worldline, based in Bezon in France, and Bitcoin Suisse aims to “reinforce the leading position of Switzerland as a strong center in the crypto-financial services industry.” Marc Schluep, CEO of Worldline in Switzerland: “Through the cooperation with Bitcoin Suisse, merchants can benefit from an entirely new offering without taking any conversion risk. Bitcoin Suisse has developed extensive in-house technical and crypto-financial expertise through its more than 6 years of experience in trading, brokerage and storage for cryptocurrencies. After a successful launch in Switzerland, Worldline will roll out its new cryptocurrency payment service across Europe.”

Britcoin Suisse CEO Dr. Arthur Vayloyan: “Our partnership with Worldline is a major step forward on the journey towards the widespread application of crypto payments.” Bitcoin Suisse is proud to serve as the processor of cryptocurrencies in Worldline’s payment service system. We applaud them for their pioneering spirit in taking this monumental step and pointing the way forward for others.“
